Thor is Still on Top, and Gravity's Pulled in $500 Million
Love it or hate it, comic book movies aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, and the explosion of The Avengers last summer has only made the genre stronger. Thor: The Dark World didn’t get the greatest reviews in the world, but because he’s part of the Avengers team, he’s still coming out on top against all comers.

This could become one of the cult sci-fi movies of 2014. It's being favorably compared to Blade Runner, and Caity Lotz has real star power. Check out the trailer.
From Parks and Recreation to Jurassic Park
The fourth Jurassic Park movie, which is titled Jurassic World is now fully up and running, and headed for a June 12, 2015 date. Like Star Wars, Jurassic World is currently firming up its cast, and Bruce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, and Nick Robinson are all aboard.
The Dark Side of Mario Brothers
Whenever rebooting a property, Hollywood likes to go “dark.” Batman went much darker when Christopher Nolan came aboard. But some properties you have a hard time imagining going dark. Like Super Mario Brothers for example…
Is This the End of Albums As We Knew Them?
We’ve been hearing about the end of the album for some time now. A lot of artists have been saying they don’t see the point in doing albums, and in today’s day and age it probably makes more sense to put out a song at a time, which is a shame, because there were artists that really made albums an art.
The Black Sabbath Reunion Keeps Rollin'
On November 11, 2011, or 11-11-11, the original line-up of Black Sabbath announced they would be recording a new album and would be touring the world for the first time in over thirty years. There were some serious snags along the way, original drummer Bill Ward bowed out, and guitarist Tony Iommi became ill with lymphoma, but they did finish a new album entitled 13 with Rick Rubin producing.
The Console Wars Are About to Begin
We all know that new technology can have a huge impact on our lives. Think about what our lives were like before and after the VCR, home computers, e-mail, and the internet. Now new gaming consoles are about to hit the market, and two rival companies, Sony and Microsoft, are about to do battle for your Xmas dollar.
Hollywood, and Audiences, Still Not Embracing 48 Frames Per Second
So many times in Hollywood, some new technology is being hailed as the salvation of the business. First it was the return of 3D. Imax has been doing incredible business these days, especially with success of Gravity. But one technology that apparently isn’t sticking is 48 frames per second.

Is Marvel In Danger of Being Contaminated By Twilight?
It’s been all over the news that Netflix is launching several series based on Marvel characters: Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones. While Daredevil may be without fear, our hackles came up with we found out there may be a Twilight connection with Melissa Rosenberg.
Paramount Wants to Make a Cheaper Star Trek
History often repeats itself, especially in Hollywood. Back in the late seventies, Star Trek: The Motion Picture actually became the most expensive movie of its time, costing a whopping $46 million. The film did well, but with Star Trek II, Paramount cut a lot of corners and delivered the cheapest film in the franchise. Not only did it come in at the rock bottom price of $11.2 million, it also made a ton of dough at the box office, and is still the best movie in the series
Will Oldboy Be a Dark Winner?
Will Smith was initially up for the remake of Oldboy, which made a lot of fans balk. The original’s a pretty dark and disturbing story, which didn’t fit in with Will Smith’s wholesome image. (Neither did Django Unchained either, another role Smith was up for, but ultimately passed on.)
Assassin's Creed and Independence Day 2 Get New Release Dates
We’re not exactly sure if this has anything to do with Star Wars finally getting an official release date, but quite a few movies have had their release dates shuffled around in the past several days. We just reported that The Fantastic Four got moved up from March 6, 2015 to June 19, 2015, and now the sequel to ID4 and the movie version of Assassin’s Creed have new release dates as well.

Is Call of Duty In Trouble?
Right now, video games are still hot stuff in the marketplace, but it’s a very mercurial market that can go in whatever direction the wind is blowing. We’ve already seen the market being impacted by the upcoming console changes, and now one report feels that the Call of Duty games could already be done, at least artistically.
The Magnificent 7: the actors who owe the most to geek fans
Geeks help our economy far more than we give them credit for. Beyond the technology we get from them, they fund the countless books, TV shows, mangas, and many other entertainment items lining the shelves in stores across the world.
Xbox meet C4: let the explosions begin!
You know that nothing would make you happier right now then to see someone use C4 explosives to blow up an Xbox and, even better, record it at 10 million frames per second. You can thank me later. For now, enjoy the carnage and mayhem in all its slow motion beauty.
The Fantastic Four Reboot Gets Serious
It’s hard to think of a superhero story more in desperate need of a big screen reboot than The Fantastic Four. Well, okay, I’m still holding out hope for a Howard the Duck remake, but we think The Fantastic Four has much more potential.
